1. I know most of us spent the weekend at a table packed with Easter food, friends and family, so I would like to share some post-Easter pastel palettes for all seasons.
In this dining room they’ve mixed both pastel colours with some bright ones. The result? A lot more grown-up looking than a nursery!

  2. The first stop: Kuala Lumpur

Malaysia is a different world, many different religions makes for an eclectic city. We found this beautiful cafe tucked beside Back Home hostel.

  3. Each element of this room is so wildly bold but yet it manages to pull it together at the last second.

Please note: the tortoise foot stool under the coffee table!

This pretty branch on a white wall looks so dainty and feminine.

  5. Off too Asia for a month and half! I got a little nerdy and put some tabs for the right »

    -Kitchens

    -Living rooms

    -Dining rooms

    -Bedrooms

I’ll put the rest of the appropriate tabs up when I’m back, hopefully with some Asian inspired interiors!

  6. Beautiful kitchen, imagine all that cabinet space!

  8. I know I’ve posted something from this house about a year ago. This time I want to focus on those beautiful windows. You can barely see it but look closely and see the wrought iron design in front of the glass!

  9. Two things I love about this space:
1. THERE’S A HAMMOCK!!!!!
2. Beautiful old painted windows with a beautiful view.
But just imagine lying in this hammock with good book. What more could you ask for?

  11. We all know I love anything with an animal on it. I’ve been loving these “cut out” pillows of animals that have been popping up everywhere I look. This one here is from Design Public and is a little pricey, but I like the look of this cat in particular! Another option would be a DIY option and either painting, or getting an image printed on fabric.

  12. Hi, I'm a high school senior and interior designing seems very interesting to me. I feel like it could become a passion for me if I got more into it. But everyone around me tells me I shouldn't and that I should study architecture instead.Only problem is, that looks boring to me. So I had some questions. How has this job benefited you and do you find yourself comfortable economically? Do you get to practice it often, meaning hands on decorating a space? Sorry for bugging you, have a nice day :)

If you’re not passionate about Architecture you won’t love it! But both interior design and architecture are very building code and technical based. Decorating is where you’d want to be if you love the colours and furniture aspect.

A lot of people don’t realize that interior design is very technical as well as design based. It’s a specialty area in a lot of cases, and some Architects will hire interior designers to work with them on the interiors of buildings.

If you find yourself working in in a design firm you will be economically comfortable. There’s many other jobs you could consider  for such as cabinet design, selling furniture/helping people pick it, flooring design, window design etc. Once you go to school you’ll figure out your interests a little bit more. If going to school for it, try choosing a program that allows you to do an internship! That will help with experience and most places will end up hiring you.

I went into school not knowing exactly what interior design was. I wanted to be an Architect, but didn’t want to do all the schooling associated with it. Interior design is definitely a little bit lighter in the school work. But I found I loved working on autoCAD and the building code. Some people found they liked the decorating aspect more.

I don’t really enjoy the hands on decorating a space part, I like the behind the scenes stuff. The floor plans, planning and figuring out where things are going to go before putting them in the space! But those opportunities are out there!

  13. Hey! Diggin your design! My question for you is if you know of any good online shopping spots for interior design. I'm sort of looking for the ASOS of homewares. If that exists.

I’m not sure of any sites that sell purely home decor, like ASOS is to clothing.

A few sites that I like to look on are thefancy.com and overstock.com they have various cool things in furniture and home decor!
